چکیده
The potential of cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) in biomedical applications has received significant interest, due to its ability generate reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS). Upon exposure living cells, CAP triggers alterations various cellular components, such as the cell membrane. However, permeation RONS across nitrated oxidized membranes remains understudied. To address this gap, we conducted molecular dynamics simulations, investigate capabilities modified membranes. This computational study investigated translocation processes less hydrophilic phospholipid bilayer (PLB), with degrees oxidation nitration, elucidated impact on PLB permeability. simulation results showed that species, i.e., NO, NO2, N2O4, O3, have a higher penetration through nitro-oxidized compared RONS, HNO3, s-cis-HONO, s-trans-HONO, H2O2, HO2, OH. In particular, nitro-oxidation PLB, induced by, e.g., plasma, minimal free energy barriers while it lowers these for thereby enhancing their PLB. research contributes better understanding abilities field highlights need further analysis role intracellular signaling pathways.

The use of organic polymeric membranes to separate gaseous mixtures provides an attractive alternative to other methods such as selective adsorption and cryogenic distillation. The primary advantages of membrane-based separations are their relative energy efficiency and lower costs. Because the flux of a gas across a membrane is inversely proportional to the membrane's thickness, this method re...

The transport properties of various anion and cation exchange membranes were studied in different electrolyte solutions using chronopotentiometry technique to get insight about the influence of the counter ion on the transport properties of the membranes. The investigated samples include heterogeneous ion exchange membranes varying in the functionality of fixed charged gro...

‘active transport,’ it may be useful to define the term in an unequivocal way. In accordance with Rosenberg (I z I), the term ‘transport’ or ‘active transport’ will be taken to mean a transfer of a substance against a chemical potential gradient. This definition is rather narrow; for instance, cases where a substance is found to pass faster along the concentration gradient than would be expecte...
متن کامل4.1.2??Transport of molecules across cell membranes
? Transport proteins play a critical part in solute movement because membranes constitute a barrier to free diffusion of molecules. If membranes allowed rapid diffusion of both ions and water, gradients of ions would be slight and osmotic pressure could only be achieved with enormous energy consumption. Instead, some molecules, such as water and gases, move rapidly across membranes. Unrestricte...
